Colourful tuk tuks on a busy Sri Lankan city street

See Sri Lanka's Cities the Local Way

Private tuk tuk tours through Galle, Kandy, Colombo and beyond — down the lanes a bus can't reach, led by drivers who grew up in these streets.

City tours by tuk tuk

Five cities, three wheels, zero tour-bus feeling

A tuk tuk fits down lanes a coach can't dream of, parks anywhere, and turns a city tour into an actual adventure. Our drivers grew up in these streets — so you get the shortcuts, the good food stalls and the stories, not a memorised script. Pick a city below, or tell us your route and we'll build one.

Why we do city tours by tuk tuk

We could put you in an air-conditioned van. We just think you'd have a worse time — and here's honestly why.

It goes where cars can't

Down the fort's cobbled alleys, through the market crush, up the narrow hill lanes — a tuk tuk slips through gaps a van would still be reversing out of an hour later.

Open on all sides

No window between you and the city. The smells of the spice market, the breeze off the lake, the perfect unplanned photo of a passing procession — you're in it, not watching it through glass.

A driver, not a recording

Our tuk tuk guides are local and chatty. Ask where they eat lunch, which temple their grandmother prefers, why that building is blue — the detours those questions cause are usually the best part.

Light on the city, light on you

Small, nimble and low-impact — a tuk tuk is the honest way to see a Sri Lankan city. It's also just more fun, and everyone under 90 secretly wants a go at the horn.

Not a tuk tuk person? No problem at all — every one of these cities can be done in a private air-conditioned car instead. Just say the word when you book, and we'll swap the three wheels for four.

City tour questions, answered

Yes. Our tuk tuks are well-maintained, our drivers are experienced city hands who don't take risks, and city speeds are gentle anyway. There's a roof and side covers for sun or a passing shower. It's open and breezy rather than sealed and air-conditioned — which, for a two-to-four-hour city loop, most people end up loving.
